Catch the gifts


Client: Vienna Marketing


Together with the marketing department of Vienna we developed an AR app that combined gaming with charity. The app called „Catch the Gifts“ was launched with the beginning of the annual Christmas Market.

The basic idea was that visitor kids of the Vienna Christmas Market would play for kids in need that lived in SOS-Kinderdörfer around Vienna. With the slogan #Kinderspielenfürkinder (#kidsplayforkids) the game was promoted in social media and the daily press.

Every visitor who downloaded the app could take part and collecting virtual gifts that were hidden all across the market.

After collecting enough virtual gifts, the children could then come to the SOS-Kinderdorf-booth and change the virtual gifts to real gifts for the children in need (for example a new bike).
